14-17 Week Bump Date – Second Trimester Recap – Part One

Last time we talked I had just started to near the end of the first trimester.

Now in the second trimester and almost half way through my pregnancy, I thought I should give you an update.

Life Update

At the beginning of the month I finished my Birth Doula workshop and can officially start attending births. I’m trying to get all the requirements done for my certification. I’m also in the process of putting together a website. That’s really about it. I’m basically super busy.

Alright let’s get into the pregnancy goodness.

How have you been feeling?

I’ve been better. I am sick for the second time this pregnancy. It’s some kind of annoying cold thing. Really all around I’ve been feeling pretty good. I haven’t experienced any morning sickness (YAY!). My energy seems to be a lot better too. This is definitely my favorite part of pregnancy.

Bump?

Oh yes. It is there now. You can’t miss it. My skin is starting to get itchy. I’ve been making sure to put on my belly oil every night before bed. It’s been helping so much! I feel so much bigger this time around. With Clyde my belly didn’t pop until around 20 weeks. Now at 17 weeks I feel like I look huge.

Gender?

Not much of an update here. But I do have our 20 week scan scheduled! We’re going in the day before thanksgiving. I’m still trying to come up with a fun idea to tell family. I already know what kind of announcement photo I want to do. It’s going to take me forever to put together, but I think it’s pretty creative. Just a few more weeks.

Symptoms

I’ve been having really bad round ligament pain. My eyes have been really dry, which is kind of a weird one. I think those have really been the main ones so far.

Movement?

Oh yeah! I swear I felt the first flutters around 12 weeks. At 17 weeks now I can feel them much more clearly. Just last night the baby was moving all around and was keeping me up.

Well, that’s all I got for this update. Can you guess what I was for Halloween?
